There is a GO Train station on Canarctic Drive that Metrolinx has scheduled to close after next year. Their rationale is that a new station is being built on Sheppard and Chesswood, where the new subway line will intersect the Barrie line that the trains travel on. However, we think that this will be a missed opportunity. In fact, GO Transit has never in its history closed a station. The City agreed with us, that our station ought not to be the first station to ever be closed. City of Toronto Council supported a motion by Councillor Anthony Perruzza and is now asking Metrolinx to keep the station open.

Executive Committee at the City supports plans to beautify Keele and Finch
The DUKE Heights BIA has been working since last spring on putting together a plan to revamp the intersection of Keele and Finch. We hired a consultant, The Planning Partnership, to commission a study, which the City has largely vetted and will now be part of the design and build contract that will build the LRT. We are very excited about this!
