David Milman opened Senior Home Care by Angels Toronto on February 19, 2008. The reason was personal. His father developed liver cancer and David cared for him through the illness. After his father passed away, David built the agency he wished his own family had access to. Eighteen years later, the agency operates from 1111 Finch Avenue West and serves seniors and adults across Toronto and the GTA.
"I am dedicated to providing exceptional service to the people in our community," says Milman, who spent over 34 years in business development and management before starting the agency.
What the Agency Does
Senior Home Care by Angels Toronto provides personal care and support in the client's own home. Care plans are built for one person at a time, not sold as packages. Services include:
- Personal care and hygiene
- Alzheimer's and dementia care
- Palliative and end-of-life care
- Chronic and cancer care support
- Respite care for family caregivers
- Overnight and 24-hour care
- Hospital discharge and transitional support
- Meal preparation, light housekeeping and medication reminders
Families meet and interview caregivers before care begins and make the final choice themselves. Care is available days, nights, weekends and holidays.
"We are here to support you, not to take charge of your life," says Milman.

Aging is a workplace issue. Employees across DUKE Heights are managing a parent's medical appointments, hospital discharges and daily care between shifts. Those hours come out of the workday. Home care gives working families a reliable option so a staff member does not have to choose between a job and a parent.
Milman built the agency around continuity. The same caregiver returns to the same client. Each case is assessed and managed so families are not re-explaining a medical history every week.
Local Jobs and Local Hiring
The agency hires and trains Personal Support Workers across the north end of Toronto. Many caregivers hold a medical background in addition to their PSW certificate, and many are hired from the surrounding neighbourhoods. Caregivers work with clients from a wide range of cultural and language backgrounds.

Senior Home Care by Angels Toronto sits on Finch Avenue West, a few minutes from the DUKE Heights BIA office. Milman has been active in community life for years through sponsoring events and lunches for seniors, donating to hospitals and senior centres, and visiting people with terminal illnesses in hospitals and nursing homes.
That community work came before the business and continues alongside it.
