April 13, 2022
Dear businesses owners, neighbours and friends,
I am sure that all of you are accustomed to what is a new phase in our shift back to pre-pandemic normalcy with the removal of mandatory mask mandates in most settings. As we adapt to change in our daily habits what remains unchanged and fortified is my, as well as the City's, support and advocacy for businesses like yours.
Supports such as the Toronto Main Street Recovery and Rebuild Initiative which comprises of six programs funded through the Government of Canada's Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. Grants, training and resources provided through the Toronto Main Street Recovery and Rebuild Initiative are able to be accessed until March 31, 2024.
The city is also offering full tuition to BIA members and volunteers through the BIA Local Leadership Fund to be part of the Local Economic Development Certificate Program (LED) at Ryerson's Chang School for Continuing Education. This opportunity allows emerging leaders to gain valuable insight on LED, preparing them for the current workforce. Funds will be made available on May 2 and you can request an application by sending an email to Marianne.szczuryk@toronto.ca - deadline is June 17 at 4:30 pm.
