Dear Neighbours,
We continue to work with City Staff on mitigating the potential economic and employment impact of Bill 97 and Official Plan Amendment 804 for Employment Areas. During a period of economic crisis, it is vital to support our local businesses and ensure that forthcoming land use and zoning policies do not limit our city’s growth and productivity. Duke Heights BIA is a key contributor to our employment and business sectors, and its operations must continue to run smoothly.
It was a pleasure to join my Duke Heights BIA board member colleagues and Councillor Perruzza for the unveiling and opening of the DUKE Heights Pedestrian Trail located on the east side of Allen Road from Sheppard Avenue West to Rimrock Road. This new multipurpose trail was built in collaboration with the City of Toronto. it features new street furniture, trees, and improves pedestrian access to Sheppard West Station. We are pleased to see another great infrastructure improvement project come to completion in York Centre and the expanding network of our pedestrian walkways.

I would like to congratulate Roman Baber on winning the York Centre riding and becoming our newly elected Member of Parliament! I look forward to collaborating with Roman to advocate for our constituents and support investments in York Centre. Great things happen when all three levels of government work together.
Toronto Hydro is improving the electricity system in York Centre. The boundaries for the project include a section of Chesswood Drive, Sheppard Avenue West and Steeprock Drive. Work is expected to begin this month.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me and my team via phone at 416-392-1371 or by email at councillor_pasternak@toronto.ca.
Sincerely,
James Pasternak
