Dear Neighbours,
I hope everyone is doing well and gearing up for the winter season ahead.
I am happy to inform the community that the Chesswood Infrastructure Project is almost finished and is estimated to be completed by November 28, 2023. Residents and visitors who commute through Chesswood Drive can look forward to the implementation of new sidewalks, raised cycle tracks, and roadway expansions for larger vehicles.
In addition to this good news, the realignment and upgrade of a major sewer system under the G. Ross Lord Reservoir is proceeding smoothly and should be finished by October 4th, 2024. Throughout these final steps of maintenance, we will be working with the BIA to commence their Public Realm Project which is also located at this site.
Last month, I had the chance to attend the Annual Downsview Aerospace Innovation and Research (DAIR) Conference at Centennial College Downsview Campus. The DAIR Hub is a magnificent facility that provides an essential space for industry partners to develop their creative projects right in the heart of York Centre. It was a great first-hand learning experience and I look forward to seeing these concepts come to fruition in the near future.
On a final note, we continue to advocate on behalf of our local businesses and property owners in our fight against Ontario Bill 97–Helping Homebuyers, Protecting Tenants Act. The Bill received Royal Assent on June 8, 2023. The link to this Bill can be viewed here. Please stay vigilant on this matter and look out for any updates from our office.
Once again, if anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me and my team via phone at 416-392-1371 or by email at councillor_pasternak@toronto.ca.
Sincerely,
James Pasternak
