Dear Resident,
This December, I’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Chag Hanukkah Sameach, and a very happy New Year. I hope that all residents take this time to celebrate and enjoy winter’s tidings with loved ones.
At November’s City Council meeting, we received an update on the city’s Winter Maintenance Review. I’m glad to see multiple departments such as parking enforcement and the TTC synergizing and that technology is being better mobilized to improve service. While some concerns may be addressed, I believe that the conversation must also include how to better make use of workers’ time with flexibility and efficiency. Given how unpredictable weather has become, and the incredible need and cost of other services such as road repairs, we must find a way to make our services work better for us as a city, and to get more out of them. You can watch my comments in the chamber on my YouTube channel.

Also, I recently connected with volunteers from God’s Strength Ministries as they were providing free food to residents at 235 Gosford Drive, while preventing food waste in our grocery system as well. To learn more about their incredible work, as well as find a pop-up or regular distribution date near you, please visit https://godsstrengthministries.com/.

Lastly, into the New Year, my office will be hosting community skate events where the public can join us for refreshments and a free skate. Stay tuned to my website, or subscribe for email updates for more information.
