July 20, 2026
.
Summer is here, and I hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather and making the most of the season. Before diving into a few community updates, I want to congratulate all of the graduates of the Class of 2026. I was honoured to attend so many graduation ceremonies this year and celebrate alongside students, families, and educators. It was a privilege to offer my congratulations and best wishes for the bright futures that lie ahead.
I am also pleased to share that the Grandravine soccer mini-pitch is now up and running. Free children's soccer programs are already underway, providing young residents with opportunities to stay active, develop their skills, and enjoy the game. Outside of scheduled programming hours, the pitch is fully open and available for drop-in use by the community. I am especially proud that both the field and the free programming were made possible through private fundraising as part of the Soccer for All Legacy Program. For more information on the pitch and programming, please visit https://www.toronto.ca/soccer-for-all/
I am also excited to invite residents to my annual Environment Day event, taking place on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Black Creek Pioneer Village, located at 1000 Murray Ross Parkway. This annual event provides an opportunity to pick up free bagged compost and safely dispose of household hazardous waste and other materials. Residents are also encouraged to bring their bicycles for a free tune-up provided by North York Cycles.
I look forward to seeing you there and wish everyone a safe, happy, and enjoyable summer.
Yours Truly,
City Councillor
