The DUKE Heights BIA proudly presented the Tour de DUKE Heights 2024 on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at York University, where 100 bikes were gifted to children from local families. This event was made possible through the support of Toronto City Councillors James Pasternak (Ward 6 – York Centre) and Anthony Perruzza (Ward 7 – Humber River-Black Creek), along with the generous sponsorship from Upper Crust. We are also grateful to York University for providing the venue and its exceptional staff for their vital role in organizing and executing the event.
Our sincere thanks also go to the 31 Division of Toronto Police Service, Cycle Toronto, and Regenesis - Cycle York teams for their invaluable assistance throughout the Tour de DUKE Heights bike event.
The success of the day was further enhanced by the enthusiastic participation of all the families. The festive atmosphere was complemented by delicious treats from Sweets from the Earth and the Uncle Jimmy Ice Cream truck, as well as a fun canvas painting activity for kids, facilitated by FunArt.Events, which added to the enjoyment of the event for everyone.
The day was a wonderful success, highlighted by the joy on the children’s faces as they rode off on their new bikes. We hope to see this event grow in the future, reaching more kids and encouraging a love of cycling.
