DUKE Heights goes green.
In the next few months, the City of Toronto Forestry division will be planting trees in the DUKE Heights area. The first phase will be along Chesswood and Finch, from Keele to Bathurst. There will be further plantings happening along Alness, but due to construction, this will likely not occur until the fall of 2016, or the spring of 2017. There are also plans underway for tree plantings along the Downsview and Sheppard area in the of fall 2016.
See the Parks, Forestry & Recreation page on the City of Toronto website for more details.
Duke Heights Employment Hub.
One of the recommendations that arose from the recent IBI study in our area, was the development of an employment hub in Duke Heights to serve as a focal point for local innovation. We are currently in the beginning stages of trying to bring this Hub to Life. This will be a physical space, serving as a resource to businesses in the community for things like employment and education resources and more.
