Councillors Corner – Environment Day

Councillor Anthony Perruzza's Environment Day is on April 2, 2016.

Our local Environment Day at Black Creek Pioneer Village is a popular annual event for those who love gardening and/or are looking to declutter by donating and recycling as well as get rid of hazardous household waste.

Date: Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Location:  Black Creek Pioneer Village
(1000 Murray Ross Parkway, east of Jane & Steeles)

Come out on a brisk Spring morning and enjoy some free hot chocolate, coffee and cookies while you pick up free compost soil to ensure your garden will yield a great harvest.

If you have items you would like to donate such as non-perishable food, books, walking aids and more, Toronto Waste staff on hand will ensure they will go to those who need it. Our Toronto Waste staff are also there to help answer any questions you have on what is and isn’t recyclable so we can all better do our part on reducing the size of landfill waste.

You can drop off the following for recycling or proper disposal:

Cell phones, small electronics, printers & fax machines, household hazardous waste, light bulbs, computers, small TVs, unused medications, oils, solvents, propane tanks, inkjet & laser cartridges.

You can donate the following items for re-use (please keep
separated from other items): Books, CDs, cameras, eyeglasses, walking aids, hearing aids, small household items, clothing, arts & crafts supplies, costume jewellery, non-perishable food.
