Dear Neighbours,
I hope the last few weeks have been treating you well. Here are a couple updates that I wish to share for this month.
Our office has received an update that the Barry Zukerman Amphitheatre at Earl Bales Park is projected to reopen for public use by mid-Spring 2024. We are looking forward to this occasion and to the return of live entertainment and special events being hosted at this wonderful outdoor facility in York Centre.
In other news, there will be a permanent closure of the main parking lot at Wilson Station by July 2024. A CreateTO affordable housing with development project will commence onsite shortly after the closure begins. Some positive additional components will be built on this land such as underground parking spaces, a new public park, and a new daycare. Stay tuned for further details and updates from the TTC. Subway Station parking is still available nearby at Sheppard West Station and Pioneer Village Station.
On a final positive note, I was recently invited to speak during the opening ceremony of the North York Karate Open Tournament for children and youth which was hosted by York Centre Karate at La Liga Sports Complex. It was inspiring to see so many motivated athletes, passionate karate coaches, and supportive parents turn out for this community recreational event. I am looking forward to showing my support at upcoming sporting events and ceremonies throughout the ward.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me and my team via phone at 416-392-1371 or by email at councillor_pasternak@toronto.ca.
