Dear Neighbours,
I hope you’re all looking forward to celebrating during the winter holiday season. Here are a few updates that I wish to share.
I was proud to join staff and developers from CreateTO, Greenwin, Tridel, and Kingsett at the groundbreaking for Toronto’s Housing Now development at 50 Wilson Heights Boulevard - transforming a parking lot into a complete transit-oriented community at the TTC’s Wilson station. As of November 18, 2024, the Wilson Station Main Lot (north parking lot) at 50 Wilson Heights Boulevard is closed and will be repurposed into a mixed-use housing development with new underground commuter parking spaces, a daycare, and a new public park.
For those who park at Wilson Station, there are still spaces available at the Wilson Transit Road Lot (capacity is 72 parking spaces). Alternative TTC commuter parking is available at Sheppard West (632 parking spaces), Pioneer Village (1881 parking spaces), Finch West (347 parking spaces), Highway 407 (550 parking spaces) stations, Yorkdale Commuter Parking (on Monday – Friday from 5:30 am to 9:30 am, in the East “E” parkade on levels P3, P4, and P5), and at the Targetpark lot on 18 Tretti Way (limited capacity).
The Bathurst Finch Food Coalition is organizing a Community Fridge and Pantry initiative, an important cause that will provide food products to those in need from the York Centre community and surrounding areas in Toronto. The Community Fridge and Pantry is open to all at the Bathurst-Finch Hub. The fridge and pantry will operate every Friday morning from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The other location is 788 Sheppard Ave. West and will be opening soon. The coalition is currently looking to collaborate with local businesses on this charitable project. If you are interested in participating, please contact Angie Buado, Coordinator, Bathurst Finch Food Coalition at 416-871-6926 or via email at angiebuado@yahoo.ca.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me and my team via phone at 416-392-1371 or by email at councillor_pasternak@toronto.ca.
Sincerely,
James Pasternak
