Dear Resident,
First of all, I’d like to wish you all a happy Black History Month. February is a time to listen to, uplift and celebrate Black voices. I hope you all take this opportunity to reflect on Black History and support our neighbours in the African Diaspora.
The last few weeks have been a source of great concern, confusion and uncertainty for many in the City of Toronto due to President Trump’s tariff threats. I moved a motion at City Council in February for the City to call upon the Federal Government for a Canada-wide labeling campaign encouraging consumers to vote for Canada with precious political capital; their spending. I will continue to fight for ways we can protect Canadian commerce, and incentivize residents to think local first; supporting Canadian industries, Canadian jobs and Canadian workers.

In other news, I recently had the pleasure of attending a ground-breaking ceremony for “The Quad”, a new student housing project at York University’s Keele Campus. An innovative form of student housing, this project will bring dozens of units of shared accommodation to the area. I’m looking forward to following the project’s progress in months to come.
