...
As we settle 2026, I want to wish you and your loved ones a healthy and happy New Year. I’m excited to share some updates on the projects underway that will make our neighbourhood an even better place to live, work and play.
On December 7, we officially opened the new Finch West LRT, Line 6. It was wonderful to see so many neighbours come out to ride the train for free on opening day and experience this long-awaited addition to our transit network.
The new line has gotten off to a rocky start in terms of speed and reliability and we took action at City Council by instructing staff to make key changes to improve service. The Finch West LRT is already delivering a cleaner, more comfortable transit experience and I will continue to work with the TTC to make trips faster and more reliable.

Big improvements are coming to Fountainhead Park with construction on a new skate trail and ice rink this year. This new space will be designed with community input and will include seating, lighting, and accessible pathways. We’re also upgrading the existing clubhouse with new washrooms, a new change room, and a redesigned tennis room.

A key improvement is coming to Grandravine Park with the construction of a new soccer mini-pitch. This project is being delivered through the Soccer for All Legacy Program and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, funded by privately raised dollars. The goal is to reduce barriers to participation in soccer and create more opportunities for young people and families to stay active. I’m proud to see investments like this in our neighbourhood that grow the sport as we prepare to host the World Cup this year.
Thank you for your continued engagement. Your voices help shape the projects and priorities in our ward, and I look forward to working with you in the year ahead.
Yours Truly,
City Councillor
