Dear Resident,
I hope you have all kept safe and warm through the winter and are looking forward to the longer, warmer days ahead from this month’s Spring Equinox. I’ve heard from many of you regarding snow removal following this past month’s snowfall events. I continue to work with city staff to make snow removal services better for all residents.
I would also like to wish a happy International Women’s Day to all. On March 8th, countries worldwide celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women, and highlight the need for gender equity in all areas of life. This year’s theme is Accelerate Action, and as such, we must all reflect on and commit to actions which create a safe, fair and just world for all.
On March 4th, I joined city staff for a well-attended evening consultation at St. Andre school on the future of Wilson Avenue. The focus of this project is to determine how we want the street to look when property owners on Wilson Avenue eventually come forward to make changes to their sites including beautification efforts on streets, additional lighting to address safety concerns, and how to guide future revitalization.

Many residents also raised concerns about basement flooding. I held a meeting on this subject in January of last year and I am committed to holding another meeting with residents in the area. We are currently in the process of organizing this meeting and I will be in touch shortly with next steps. For more information on either project, or details on how you can get involved, please contact my office.
