Dear Resident,
I hope you have all had a safe and enjoyable summer, and for those of you with children, that you are ready and excited for the upcoming school year.
As a City Councillor, community infrastructure has always been important to me. A few crucial infrastructure upgrades are underway in Ward 7. The City of Toronto has constructed a new transmission watermain in the Downsview area to keep up with current water pressure demands and adapt to future community growth. They are commissioning the watermain through September and October. As a result, residents between the area of Steeles Avenue West to Sheppard Avenue West, along Keele Street to Wilmington Avenue may feel changes in water pressure through the fall which will be expected to fall within the City’s acceptable range. Also, the pedestrian bridge above Driftwood Avenue is being rehabilitated!
This summer, my office helped connect hundreds of residents with support, including property tax and utility rebate application assistance, bicycle and backpack donations and more. We are grateful to the DUKE Heights BIA and all partners of the annual Tour de DUKE Heights and backpack drives for their generosity in helping make back-to-school special for families in need.
