On Sunday, July 24, 2022, DUKE Heights BIA hosted its annual Tour de DUKE Heights signature bike event aimed to promote cycling in our area, educate kids and youth on safe cycling and donate bikes to children.
DUKE Heights BIA provided 150 bikes to children in the neighbouring communities! It was great to have so many deserving families participate in the event and for the children to take part in the training and “race” on the Finch Recreational Bike Trail.
Thank you to local City Councillors for Ward 6 and Ward 7 and Champagne Centre for their participation and support; and an additional thank you to Culture Link Bike Hub for assembling all the bikes, tuning them up for the kids and conducting the onsite bike safety training, 31 Division and all the participating community groups, volunteers and attendees.
DUKE Heights BIA looks forward to hosting the Tour de DUKE Heights bike giveaway and children’s bike race event in the years ahead, bringing joy to many children and families from the surrounding communities!
