The City of Toronto is planning to replace the watermain and the City-owned portion of substandard water services on Dufferin Street from Finch Avenue West to Steeles Avenue West and on Vanley Crescent from Chesswood Drive to Chesswood Drive. This project is expected to start in summer of 2018 and complete by summer of 2019.
This project is part of the Council-approved 2018 Capital Works Program to renew the aging infrastructure in the City, improve water distribution and reduce the risk of watermain breaks.
What to Expect Before Construction:
• Work crews will mark the locations of underground utilities, such as gas, water and cable so that the construction work does not interfere with these utilities.
• Affected properties will receive a Construction Notice approximately two weeks before work begins with more information about the work.
• Work in the boulevard in front of homes and commercial properties is expected. This work includes removing and replacing driveways, municipal sidewalks and grassed boulevards, where necessary.
