Dear Resident,
Once again, the holidays are upon us, and it is time to reflect on another eventful year in Ward 7. As your Councillor, it is a pleasure to wish you all a happy and safe holiday season. For those of you celebrating, I wish you a Merry Christmas, chag Hanukkah sameach, a joyous Kwanzaa and all the best for the upcoming New Year.
On December 7th, my office held our annual Toy Drive event in Oakdale Community Centre. It was a pleasure to celebrate this special season with residents and help connect local children with toys. We sang, caroled, danced, jingled and dashed to holiday rhythms played by a live DJ, shared yummy treats and received a surprise visit from Santa himself! Thank you to all hardworking volunteers and generous donors for helping us make Christmas special for community youth once more.
Also, on Tuesday December 10th, an exciting item came to Executive Committee at City Hall. The City of Toronto has been working closely with the Community Music Schools of Toronto on a project that aims to bring a permanent school of music to the newly expanded Yorkwoods Library. Stay tuned for an important announcement, which can be watched from home on your computer or any device that can connect to the internet. If you have questions on how you can watch Council proceedings either in person or online remotely, please contact my office.
