Dear Neighbours,
I hope you’re all doing well. Here are a few updates that I wish to share.
I recently joined Toronto Police Service Chief Myron Demkiw at a press conference to announce that the Province of Ontario is contributing a H135 helicopter and providing support to launch Toronto Police Service's new air support unit. This air support unit will help keep the city safe by equipping police with resources to improve response time to crimes and act as an additional measure to help prevent auto thefts.
It was great to be at 20 De Boers Drive for the grand opening of The Mom Loft! This facility was founded and is operated by a team of medical professionals who have spent their lives serving pregnant and new moms. It will serve as a vital space for moms to socialize and receive support. For more information on their services visit https://themomloft.com/.
Lastly, I would like to remind the York Centre community that the Wilson Station Main Lot (north parking lot) at 50 Wilson Heights Boulevard will be closing and repurposed into a mixed-use housing development with new underground commuter parking spaces, a daycare, and a new public park. This closure date is planned for Monday, November 18, 2024. For those who park at Wilson Station, there are still spaces available at the Wilson Transit Road Lot (capacity is 72 parking spaces). Alternative TTC commuter parking is available at Sheppard West (632 parking spaces), Pioneer Village (1881 parking spaces), Finch West (347 parking spaces), Highway 407 (550 parking spaces) stations, and Yorkdale Commuter Parking (1010 parking spaces at commuter flat rate on Monday – Friday from 5:30 am to 9:30 am, in the East “E” parkade on levels P3, P4, and P5).
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me and my team via phone at 416-392-1371 or by email at councillor_pasternak@toronto.ca.
